 PREFACIA

Salutes totes!

This blog is made to help those who are still beginners in Interlingua to understand Interlingua better.

Interlingua is a Romance based language that is a conlang with English as its primary control and Russian as its secondary. It is a language based on International vocabulary mostly Latinate (also exist in English and other languages), terminological Greek, and Romance roots. It is meant to be easily understood by people especially those who are exposed to many Latinate vocabulary.

The grammar in authoritative Interlingua based on IALA works is simplified. It has no verbal conjugations, simple grammatical articles, and no gender or numeral agreement for adjectives. The grammar will be discussed in details. But, it is more or less closer to English with some exceptions and not as complex as Romance languages.

The other grammars that are closed to Romance languages also present. The versions are called Interlingua Classica and Interlingua Conjugata. Interlingua Classica adds more Romance characteristics such as nominal genders, gender and numeral agreement for grammatical articles and adjectives among others while keeping the other points closer to English. For Interlingua Conjugata, the grammar is more based on Romance languages formally speaking. So you can also learn these versions after you have some grip on authoritative Interlingua grammar which is simple for a beginner and can serve as a stepping stone if one wishes.

The grammars will be explained through the blog posts and we will explore them one by one with the examples. The list of grammatical points will also presents on this blog. While thematic vocab may become another feature if all these previous things are done.

If you want to speak a language that is easy to understand by many people and especially can help you communicate a little bit better with Romance speaker, you should learn Interlingua and see yourself.

We are also available at Discord. Just search Interlingua server and then click the user "David". Our server is the English speaking one. While the one you will click before will be the purely Interlingua speaking one. So keep in mind the difference between the two.

Happy learning!!
